White Fang No More

I called this morning and cancelled the motel rooms at White Fang. I guess it is official, we are driving straight through. Hey, quick question. How many hand held CBs do we have for this trip. I found an old one that I had, do I need to take it? I am not even sure if it still works or not.
Don't forget your fitted sheets and bug spray. See ya on Thursday.

  1. Dad has 3. Troy has 1. I probably have a couple we could use as back ups but I am not sure how great they are.

  3. That is good stuff right there. Senior year smart-assedness towards Uncle Trent. This trip is really starting to take shape.

  4. I see you guys leave in 3 days for the Chutes. My group made 15 trips to The Chutes starting in 1974. We now fly out of Wawa Lake to Pine Portage Lodge on Kabinakagami Lake with Watson's. Whe you're too old to climb the hill to the Chutes and fix all the stuff Richard and Rodney should be taking care of consider Pine Portage Lodge. When you leave Wawa headed to Ivanhoe lake you pass Watson's base on Wawa Lake.

BTW, we were the last group to stay in the old log cabin before the tornado took it out and the first group to stay in the new replacement cabin the following year. There is another Pittsburgh group that always goes to The Pines and they are close friends of ours.

Anyway, have a great and safe trip this year and say hello to Richard from the Pittsburgh group.

  5. Hi Tom
Thanks for the post. I've been going to the Chutes since 1976 ans started going with guys who started many years before that. I'm not the oldest guy on the trip but the most veteran of our group. Weve had guys fron age 6 to 74 in our group. This year we range from age 13 to 65. We were scheduled for the Chutes the week after the tornado and ended up at Hemps Camp but did take a day trip to see the destruction. What a sight.
How's the fishing at Pine Portage Lodge? Is it solitary or do you share the area with other groups? We still enjoy the Chutes and will probably keep with our current program as long as we are able
