Yesterday I came within inches of having to stay in Canada and become Rodney's apprentice. You see, there are certain things you are going to want to avoid as this fairly expensive and selfish Canada Trip nears.
1. Don't complain when your wife wants to buy a swingset for the kids. "I don't think we really need to be spending money on a swingset right now." is an inappropriate response to this request.
2. Don't put off things she would like done around the house to reorganize your tackle box.
3. Don't post to this blog when there is a baby crying. That really wears on her.
4. Keep the "I just thought of one more thing I need" comments to a minimum. It is best just keep a mental list and say it just once.
5. Last but certainly not least; Don't forget your anniversary. Especially when it falls in the same month as the trip you have been obsessing about all year. This could potentially be bad.
My only saving grace, other than charm, is I wasn't the only one that forgot. She forgot too. We really love each other.
There is only about two and half weeks left but if you can put any of this advice to use, I would recommend it.
