Another Month Goes Down.....

February has come and gone (thank God). As I was on my way home from teaching last night I mentally took a trip down the river. Aside from coming around the bend and getting the first look of the chutes, what is your favorite spot on the river? There is something about sitting and BS'ing just out from the beaver hut at the Trapper's Cabin. That may just be the quietest, most peaceful place on the river. There may be some fishing down below for me this year.

  1. I can't tell you how many times I have done that as well. The part of the river I always enjoy seeing is the part just below the Pines when the river narrows. It makes me feel like I am getting into Chutes' territory. I also love seeing the Fish Market. A lot of great times spent there as a small child. I believe that was the spot that Uncle Steve got the tour of my tackle box.
I'm with you Ryan, I believe there will be some time fishing down below this year, especially with 7 boats being on the water. Should be a great year and a lot of good memories.

  2. I always liked going under the railroad bridge. Have not seen it much in recent years though. I also like the strech of all the channels
above the trappers cabin. Andy likes the North end of Pine Lake just after we clean all of the weeds off of the prop. Then it's his turn to drive.

  4. Who posted as anonymous here. My guess is Aaron H. or Fishfinder forgot to log in.

Fish Market is on my list also. Railroad bridge was a big one when I was a kid. It always felt like once you went under that bridge you were really there.

I like leaving Pine Lake too. The thing that amazes me about that spot is that it looks like you should just be able to scoot over there and be off the lake but it actually feels like an eternity from the dock to where the river narrows.
